Also have had cashier scan each gift card then look at back of the card to make sure the numbers match up with what comes up on the computer screen from the card she just scanned that hasn't left her hand. Did this for a massive stack of cards, I could feel the heat coming from everyone in line, I almost offered to help them use the self checkout while she "verified" each card.

So one store in Kitchener wanted to pre-authorize when I bought $500 because they said anything over $300 needs pre-authorization. So I brought out 2K in cards from the entire rack and said go ahead pre-authorize me on $2000, the cashier probably had an aneurysm spending the next 15 minutes scanning them lol.

btw I still don't understand why they insist on taping each little slip to the back of the card wasting 5 minutes, when there's like 6 people behind in the lines

The best was Eastern european lady at cashier at a "good" store thought the cards were same as tickets so she gladly scanned all of them and said if I win jackpot she gets half the prize

Tshi, this has to be the same "pre-auth" store I went to , on Weber Street between the beer store and VW dealership. I left with a near migrane.

You are right it is that store! Don't worry I was only visiting KW area that day so only passing by that store, I will be sweeping cards in my own city instead of KW

Probably old news for everyone but Petro Canada giving out double points on lottery purchases right now. Also can't use points for lottery anymore but could you just buy petro gift cards and then use them for lottery?

Anybody else get roughly but not exactly half the number of PC Optimum points they were expecting following the latest round of SDM OLG gift card purchases? I have a number of points transactions posted to my account yesterday but for unexpected values.

It’s hard to match up the transactions but it seems that for many I got $9.60 in points for each $100 gift card. None are multiples of 20 000 points as I was expecting. All of my point awards from previous rounds have gone seamlessly.

This is unfortunate as my previous interactions with PC Optimum support have frustratingly useless.

Yeah Biff half the points or so here as well. Hopfully enough people complain and it resolves itself. My guess is they gave 10000 for every card bought instead of the usual 20000 for every 100$ card.

Zoo, yes the workaround is to get petro gift cards and then use them for lottery.
