Once again nice find bang.

Funny in the first article he says that he only used the 2012-13 season because of incomplete boxscore information for previous years. This is nonsense - the examples he gives of this are preseason games. But aside from that an excellent analysis in both articles.

The numbers in the article would agree with my program's output for the year. Whether or not the difference is a result of smaller sample sizes or if the number of faceoffs per year is just higher this year I don't know.
