ProlinePlayer.com update

Post by ProlinePlayer » Tue Feb 01, 2022 9:27 am

We've had a long run, but I fear the end is here :o

It will take a while to cover the changes in the OLG website for the prolineplayer site. To be honest not sure if I want to put it the work required. It's not only that scraping the new site will be difficult, but my site would need a complete redesign to cover all the new options. Plus no game numbers.

I'm going to work on this but will admit that I'm not in a particular hurry to get it done ;)

So, for all premium members I will be rebating all or a portion of your last payment. You have a choice. I can credit the money back to your PayPal account or send a refund by Bitcoin.

If you prefer Bitcoin please send me an email with your bitcoin address and I will send out a payment. If I haven't heard from you by Thursday I'll assume that a PayPal refund is okay.

PLP

BTW, Your premium membership will be continued even though it will not access much.

Thanks for all you have done over the years PLP
I agree the new proline+ is piece of shit, looks like our days are more or less finished.
If you want to scrape data, they do publish a PDF file of the plays available at retailer for print out. This doesn't include a lot of esoteric props where you can't easily mark the result on the slip (Eg. a variety of choices as to how the game ends). This is similar to ALC, as ALC have some esoteric choices that can only be made on the phone.

Just want to say thanks to everyone on here over the last 10+ years who have contributed to the discussion. Looks like my time for posting lists in the morning have official come to a close lol.

Hi all,

I don't post on forums much any more but was feeling a little nostalgic this morning for obvious reasons.

July 28 2007 was when I first discovered that sports could be beaten and that sports betting analytics was something I wanted to spend most of my free time doing.

My life takes a completely different (and nowhere near as fun) path if not for PLP, Chin Music, Opportunist, leoj and the others in this community. This thing lasted way longer than any of us ever thought it ever could. "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

If there's anything I can ever do for any of you, please reach out. You can find me on Twitter @PlusEVAnalytics. Best of luck wherever life takes you.

Life will be forever changing now, and how and where to pivot to is still T.B.A.

Thank you PLP for all you have done over the many years. I had worked in the 90's with an engineer to create the Sports Lottery Aid to rotate games and print them out, but you took it to a completely amazing level with that and most importantly the live odds updates every 15-20 minutes.

Matty, thanks for the mention, and back then The Big Tip had ProSelector and Bob (Robert) who started the site up.

Ain't that the truth. I've been in almost since the beginning. I still remember the day I first saw a proline list while walking through the Rideau Centre. There used to be a bar upstairs called Pete & Marty's to which I headed for a few drinks....

As I looked over this list I realised right then two things. One - they were going to make me rich (by my standards anyways). Two - this won't last long.
Amazingly I was wrong on the second. Who would have though that for decades they would continue to give us free money with their inefficient lines.

It just feels like someone died honestly and does not matter we knew this was coming. PLP thank you for everything you have done and please do not bother with a refund . You and many others were the light bulb moment that changed my life. Like you Matty those guys were influential to my path forward but you my friend overwhelmingly put me in my lane thank you.
I said this in the other thread here but the future is unknown . Things may not be the same currently but what comes up in the giving months/years could be even better. Its looks bleak right now but there are changes coming to this industry most notable in Ontario. Younger generation is gambling alot and something we cant really guess now will become popular and beatable for us edge minded folks like a poker boom. Everything including the new proline is beatable just a matter if its worth the effort. I think we will still be around in forums for many many years. On that note I am game if anyone wants to have a little get together at a casino in the summer .

Ya I like the idea of meeting together at a casino this summer, must have cheap food though!
We should keep tossing toonie bets at a baseball prop there see if we can move the lines and max out that combo.

Firstly, thank you PLP for all the work you've done the site. It is truly invaluable in the time saved!

To all the players, Bang, Richhh, MattyKGB, ChinMusic, OP, Tschi and others, your contributions and thoughts on proline games/props have always taught me as a better player. The light bulb certainly lit up when you guys are around! =)

The first time I saw proline was in a convenience kiosk near University d'Ottawa. There were so many games to choose from, and you could play with just $2 if you are so inclined. I would take the odds from the Ottawa Sun newspaper and then work on Excel and getting the numbers down and stuff... I even heard of the notorious LeBlanc Brothers from Ottawa, but never had the chance to meet them. Had I decided to stay in Ottawa to work I may have meet them and other players there. I've moved to Toronto since then and forgot about playing proline for a while, but came back in the 2010's. Truly fun times then...

@Richhhh and @Tshi2015, the old Niagara casino doesn't have sports wagering downstairs anymore. So sad... I haven't been to Niagara in quite a while so it'll be interesting to see what sports wagering is being offered now that New York is offering their own now.

As the proverb always says... when a door closes, another opens.

Red. =)
