September Picks (NFL, NCAA, MLB, Soccer)

Post by fantastic666 » Tue Sep 03, 2013 9:41 pm

Nfl Week 1 Picks

Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos
Pinnacle Line: Broncos by 7.5. Total: 48.
Thursday, Sept. 5, 8:30 ET

When Flacco has the ball; The Oriols rejected so the Ravens can't open up
their season at home. NFL rewarded them a trip to Mile-High, I can't even recall
all curses I heard from Ravens fans in their message board. lol

Funny thing happened & Thursday is the right time to visit Denver, after all.
Von Miller? Suspended! Bailey? a game-time decision! Wolfe? Injury-riddled!
Those are some major names missing.

All fans point out Boldin & Pita are not there, so their passing attack
sucks. Well we all should remember Torrey Smith was the main playmaker in that
January playoff victory. Flacco went 18-34 for 331 yards & 3TDs at that night, all against
Broncos with Miller, Dumervil & healthy Bailey.

Flacco & Rice should have success in this game, Broncos D is still solid unit without
aformentioned three, but very soft one especially in its interior.

When Peyton has the ball; motivated Wes Welker is the X-factor & can be the difference
in this game. Peyton is going to face elite pressures from Suggs, Dumervil & Ngata.
This is where the absence of rock-solid C Walton lie huge.. His replacement Ramirez will
not cut it. But We are talking about Peyton the master, who gets rid of the ball
as quickly as anybody. And I don't think Ravens has the answer for Welker running routes.

Ray Lewis & Ed Reed were the coaches on field, always put his teammates
at the right spot at right moment. But prodiction-wise, they were in decline big time.
I feel Dumervil, Daryl Smith, Michael Huff can replace them just fine. Still, Peyton
will do his things with Decker, Thomas & Welker, without much help from his RBs.

Pick: The spread was -10 a few days ago, and now it's -7.5. I feel Peyton & Broncos
gonna struggle early, but after halftime Peyton make necessary adjustment to come back.
-7.5 is a little much. As long as the spread dwindles into -6.5, I will pick Ravens.
Not going to be key or multi-unit play because I am still betting against Peyton.

Public is slightly leaning to Ravens, about 62%.

My Bet[Pinnacle Single]
Ravens +7.5 --- 1.855 --- $100

Any picks & feedback welcome.
Good luck on the Season

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New York Jets
Line: Buccaneers by 3. Total: 40
Sunday, Sept. 8, 1:00 ET

When Smith has the ball; Geno Smith played in preseason like a typical Rookie.
All news indicates Santonio Holmes is in great condition, but former Jet Revis will
guard him. I can imagine Rex Ryan yell at hid Rookie QB 'don't force anything to
the direction of Revis. Which means Jets offense come from Stephen Hill & RBs.
Coach Ryan will let Ivory & Powell carry the ball, lots of time. Will this be effective?

I couldn't understand why TB let Roy Miller & Michael Bennet to leave. They were both
key guys for stopping opponents' running game. Without them, I don't see TB
bottles up Jets RBs, especially with the advantage in the battle of trenches.

Jets O-Line is solid. I observe many people laugh at Jets because of controversies
they created, but any handicapper should remember where a team's strength lies,
and weakness lies, no matter how a franchise looks like a laughingstock.

So what Jets got? Solid O-line, underrated RB in Ivory, above-average front 7 in
defense, and Antonio Cromatie, who can hold his own, And of course,
difficult situation at QB.

As long as Geno Smith don't turn the ball over multiple time, I think Jets will be
in the game.

When Freeman has the ball; I love the way Doug Martin runs. Relentless, isn't it?
It's too bad TB Guard Nicks is out, he was major reason Martin had success last year.
And without him, even Martin may struggle running through Jets front 7.

Cromatie Vs Vincent Jackson should be fun matchup, but how about Freeman?
I am maybe biased, but as of now, something looks very wrong for Freeman.
I didn't like what I saw in preseason. Again without Nicks at Guard, with terrible
Donald Penn at left tackle, Jets can put some pressure on Freeman. Whether
TB coaching staff & Freeman can adjust, remains to be seen.

Picks; Wrong team is favored in my opinion. Everybody's counting Jets out in this game.
There are not many things to get excited about Jets, but last year in week 1,
People bet Buffalo like crazy, then Jets kicked Bills butt (48-28 win). I smell
similar thing gonna happen in this game.

Everybody in TB Bandwagon, about 90% of public on TB.

My Bet[Pinnacle Single]
Jets +3 --- 2.05 --- $50

If line goes up to +3.5 or more, I will bet more on Jets. Jets by 4 in my opinion.
