new OLG terminals online

Post by kbet » Fri Nov 29, 2019 6:52 pm

I came across 2 new OLG terminals today. They are kind of slow for doing multiple slips, and store owners don't seem to like them. This one is at Jane St. / Trethewey Dr. in Toronto.

Has anybody else come across them yet, and what has your experience been like?

Kbet my new friend! Have not seen one of those before. Were these both at Shoppers drug marts? Do they just scan the slips?

Yes they're camera based
Also when you redeem they no longer print at side of tickets
Full rollout expect in 2020

This sounds like it would be slower. What do you mean no longer print at side of tickets?

The other location is up the street a few blocks towards Black Creek Dr. at a convenience store. They put the slip in the opening, the camera analyzes it, and the light turns green after it registers.

right now when you validate ticket they print payout at side of ticket, since this is camera based with no printer the ticket will no longer have letters indicating they have been checked, hence up to retailer/customer to tore ticket to remember it's been checked/cashed already.

I also worry this will be much slower, with the old machine if you need to play a stack you can quickly slide them in and wait for it to print, here I would think you would need to put it in, wait for green light, then put second one in, I think it'd be much slower! This is bad.

Also I think they have customer facing scanner, so you can scan your own QR codes to play tickets. Have you guys had any luck using the Proline App playing tickets with QR codes? They are slow as hell for PL because I have to go back to a ridiculously long list of 70 games to select the games. I think for props it's not bad since there are usually only up to 16 games per card.

The only advantage for the proline app is that some lazy retailers always run out of sheets, especially proline and props, so in a pinch it saves the day.

I could be wrong but this sounds incredibly bad . So bad it wont last. Need to spend millions to revise. But if the goal is eventually go paperless then maybe it is here to stay. The 2020 number likely means 2027 anyways.
New store opened up in my area. Guy liked me so much he gave me a slice of pizza. Went back later he game me a lotto max ticket and even later he gave me a weird sandwich and told me to heat for 30 seconds( gave it to the wife). Think I will one up him and give him a xbox tomorrow.

Hey rich I don’t game so which one is more in demand and easier to flip: Nintendo Switch or PS4? Will scout the local Shoppers to see if I can redeem some PC points and get my hands on a console.

Nintendo Switch is the new thing and easy sell. Real Canadian super store was sold out in minutes yesterday but they also had the mariocart combo and free turkey. Shopers has the Digital Xbox which is Bottom of the barrel and comes with exactly nothing other then the remote for $180 but at this price is easy resell. You might find these things impossible to get and in that case plenty of other options like Garmin 3 vivoactive /icemachine/next smart thermostat.
Buying with the intention to resell Bang! You dirty dog you( altho better then buying with intentions to return for gift card). This is not what here comes PC clause jingle is all about. Happy shopping !
